Update:
I contacted Designs for Health about the matter and they said the black speckles & browning were normal and to be expected in Vitamin B supplements due to a natural oxidation process caused by repeated opening of the bottle (introducing humidity/moisture into the bottle). They said it was harmless and that nutritional properties of the supplement shouldn’t be affected so long as the bottle is not past its expiry date. I’m not completely convinced that the supplements haven’t lost some of their potency but from henceforth I’ll be opening the bottle only once a week to dispense that week’s worth at a time. I only wish that the manufacturer had had some sort of notice advising of this possible occurrence on the bottle or on their listing/site.
